Beth Curran

Founder and Lead Trainer

With nearly two decades of experience as an educator, I bring both an understanding of sound mathematical practices and practical advice to classrooms around the globe. I was introduced to Singapore’s approach to learning mathematics in 2012. Since then, I have honed my skills for creating a learning environment that allows all students access to rich mathematics. My desire to have a greater impact on the educational community as a whole, led me to pursue a career supporting teachers and schools. My experience as a teacher of mathematics ranges from Kindergarten through middle school. I am an author, trainer, coach, and consultant. I have been fortunate in my career to partner with dozens of schools and have supported hundreds of teachers sharing my passion for making high quality mathematics accessible to all.

This course is designed to provide you with a solid foundation of the methodologies, pedagogy, and major content areas introduced in Kindergarten through fifth grade. Lower level teachers will leave with an appreciation of the importance of building a solid foundation in number sense and problem-solving and will experience how mastery of those foundational skills play out in the grades that follow. Upper level teachers will gain an understanding of how the foundational skills are taught at the lower levels, how to leverage that to engage students in thinking and communicating mathematically, and how to provide support for students who may have gaps in learning.
